The Historical Museum in Harmanli plays an important role in the cultural life of the city and the region. The current building of the Historical Museum – Harmanli provides approximately 1200 square meters of exhibition space, distributed over two floors, with dedicated storage rooms, administrative offices, and a library containing close to 1500 volumes of literature.

The museum consists of three departments – “Archaeology,” “Ethnography,” and “Modern and Contemporary History,” with almost entirely digitized collections. They store nearly 20,000 museum items.

The Historical Museum in Harmanli hosts interesting temporary thematic exhibitions, meetings, discussions, and attractive events because, in addition to its collecting and scientific research work, the museum also focuses on outreach activities.
