The Management Organization of the Thrace Tourist Region (MOTTR) was established in accordance with the Tourism Act (TA). It is a result of the implementation of the National Concept for Tourism Zoning, which divides Bulgaria into nine tourist regions: Sofia, Rila-Pirin, Rhodopes, Thrace, Varna, Burgas, Stara Planina, the Danube, and the Valley of the Roses.
The Thrace Tourist Region includes 35 municipalities, divided into two subregions – Plovdiv and Stara Zagora. The organization’s headquarters are located in Plovdiv.
